Simed International builds hospitals and other medical facilities throughout Europe and elsewhere. Each country has its own unique situation. In some places, the health care sector is still in its infancy and very few facilities exist in the first place. There are some countries where project funding is easily arranged, while in others obtaining the financing is the main obstacle to building and equipping.

 

Simed International helps its clients draft feasible plans based on the local situation. We research the options, perform feasibility studies, take an active hand in obtaining permits and act as an intermediary in arranging the financing.

In designing a hospital, the client’s functional requirements must always be the foremost concern. These requirements must also, of course, be in line with the local situation and meet the local laws and regulations. Simed International closely monitors such compatibility and deploys its expertise and experience in converting a schedule of requirements into a fully integrated design.

 

There is a huge difference between constructing a new building and equipping an existing one or, say, relocating an existing hospital, inventory and all. Renovating or rebuilding a hospital also requires a completely different approach than new construction. Clients in the Netherlands and abroad can trust Simed to successfully construct, renovate or relocate their hospitals. If circumstances require, Simed works with local subcontractors as part of this process.

 

Equipping hospitals can be a very complicated affair, in which price, quality and availability must be balanced with the demands of the clients, regulations and end users.

 

Regular maintenance of buildings and equipment considerably extends their useful lives. As such, more and more clients are including long-term maintenance contracts as part of their project commissions. And Simed International is thoroughly capable of fulfilling such agreements.

 

In terms of the human resources, training and education are not necessarily always that easy to organise, depending on the country, whereas the necessity for them is generally great. Here, too, Simed has the ability and expertise to help, connecting clients and employees with suitable training facilities upon request.
